Girls' Spring Sports Roundup - Grace Kasabula

Softball

Ranked 11th in the state, our softball team has their sights set on a long playoff campaign. They famously beat the formidable Billerica team 4-3 in a nail biter game last Monday as well as taking a 13-1 win against Austin Prep back in April. Coach Flanagan is currently setting her sights on their remaining 4 regular season games as well as a Memorial Day Tournament where they will face their Methuen rivals.

Tennis

Although the girls' tennis team had a rough start to their season, they sure have found their rhythm now. The fairly young team now boasts a 6 game win streak which they hope holds out over the course of this week. Coach LaPierre is looking to beat the Chelmsford team at home this Friday during their senior night, who they previously lost to 2-3 early in the season. The young team has now found themselves with a 7-5 record and needing just one more win to make it to the postseason.

Lacrosse

The girls' lacrosse team’s season has been an exciting one thus far. Currently with an 8-7 record, the girls need 2 more wins to make it into the playoffs. Coach Pino highlights her team’s win 11-10 over their Andover rivals under the Walsh Stadium lights. Look out as the team faces Billerica on May 24.

Track

Per usual, the girls' track team has been a force to be reckoned with this season maintaining a 5-0 record in their regular season. The girls were particularly proud of their performance at State Relays last month where they came out on top; in part thanks to stellar performances by thrower Jenna Bard and distance runner Aisling Callahan. As the team moves on to Division Championships and the rest of their postseason this week, Coach Dell is determined to avenge the championship title after falling short just five points last year.
