Mental Health Awareness- Adianna Barrett

I want to talk about something that means a lot to me, which is mental health. Through these stressful times, everyone is struggling with something. Lately as I talk to all my peers, it is really hard for them. Not being able to celebrate their Senior Year, hang out with friends, or even get the help they need in their classes. I need to express in this article that a lot of people think it is ok not to be okay. Friends hide their emotions and try to bury stuff deep, but in the long run sometimes it is okay to accept these feelings. Reaching out to someone and accepting your mental health is a step in the right direction. For everyone struggling, please take care of your mental health first. Reach out. It helps. That true friend will always be there for you to lean on with whatever you are going through. I know it is hard but it is something we can all get through if we just believe. Setting up your mind for success will be the ultimate goal. I know that is easier said than done, but everyone you know is going to be there for you. Friends and adults understand unhappiness too and even if you are not ready yet it is okay. It is a subject that people rarely talk about but it needs to be brought up. Help your peers, and help yourself. You are the guide to your own future, and frankly we all have one. Please reach out and take care of yourself because in the long run it will help you. Our mind is a fascinating subject, and once we figure out that we have the power to find that happiness we are looking for, it will speak wonders to our actions and emotions.

Here is a song to listen to:

  • Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles

P.S. Congrats to the seniors on getting Early Action Common Apps done! I am proud of all the work everyone has done to get to this spot in their life! :)
